A White House official commented that the United States government had no plans to meet with North Korea.

Some forensic experts suspect the most old-fashioned of poisons, cyanide, in the crude assassination of Kim Jong-nam at Kuala Lumpur International Airport last week. He died in an ambulance on the way to hospital.

Malaysian police and Interpol are hunting four North Korean men who left Malaysia the day Kim Jong Nam was killed. "This incident has caused significant damage to Malaysia, and its image of safety and political stability". Malaysian officials refused, according to the wire service. He was sprayed with an unknown chemical in a shopping concourse while awaiting a flight to Macau, an unidentified senior Malaysian government official told The Associated Press. A second autopsy was an "attempt to mangle again his body" and constituted human rights abuse, he said. "We will be guided by the principles of the rule of law to find out the truth because the crime was committed in Malaysia", he stressed.

North Korea and Malaysia have become embroiled in an increasingly acrimonious diplomatic row over the case.

Meanwhile, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak criticized the North Korean ambassador for "demeaning and underestimating" Malaysia's capability in handling the matter.

In Indonesia, Agung Sampurno, an Immigration Department spokesperson, said that at least three North Korean suspects who left Malaysia in the hours after the killing February 13 arrived in Jakarta later that day.

Malaysian police believe that he was poisoned, and South Korea has said it believes the killing was carried out by North Korean agents.

In the short run things are clearly rocky.

Malaysia also recalled its own ambassador in Pyongyang, the Malaysian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. It occurred a day after North Korea test fired a medium-range ballistic missile, a provocation that led China to suspend all imports of coal from its troublesome neighbor. After years of relatively friendly relations, the two countries opened embassies in their respective capitals in 2003.

The killing has set off a diplomatic spat between Malaysia and North Korea.

Police said four arrests have been made thus far. South Korean officials and North Korean defectors have called his deadly campaign a "reign of terror".

One of the people in custody told police she thought she was participating in a gag for a television show.

Lee expects many nations in Southeast Asia to re-examine their ties with North Korea, and probably also increase monitoring of North Korean diplomats posted in their countries.
