  • Rumor: Leaked Document Suggests The Evil Within 2 Might Be In Development

If this indeed comes to fruition the game would be a successor to the 2014 title The Evil Within which was released for consoles and PC's worldwide. But, a recent job posting at NeoGaf, hinted of an upcoming "The Evil Within 2" which has excited the fans. A new clue has popped up to suggest that a sequel to The Evil Within is in the works.

By the looks of it, if the job posting leaked out is true, then we might have "The Evil Within 2" coming out in later future. It's just as possible that someone put together a job posting for Psychobreak 2, Evil Within's title in Japan (think Biohazard and Resident Evil), simply as a form of wish fulfillment.

Developed by Tanga Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks, the game was directed by Shinji Mikami who is also the creator of the Resident Evil series. The title had some missteps, according to reviews, but overall it appeared as if Mikami's team found a formula that blended survival and psychological horror in an inventive way. The game is reminiscent of the original Resident Evil titles, and adds a further dimension to it by incorporating elements of mystery, sci-fi and mysticism which mix really well with the survival horror genre.

Bethesda teased earlier this year, when it announced its annual E3 press conference, that three games are being worked on to debut at the show.

For now it's best to wait and see whether Bethesda says anything official regarding The Evil Within 2 in the coming months, but the more likely place for a big reveal is this year's E3. And The Evil Within 2 could easily be one of them.

The Evil Within was developed by Shinji Mikami with his own studio called Tango Gameworks and while there is no official confirmation of a sequel yet, a leaked job listing might have revealed a potential sequel, as discovered on NeoGAF.
