Chuck Berry Died of Natural Causes

A press release from October 18, 2016 - Berry's 90 birthday - said the rock legend recorded the album in several studios in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri and featured his longtime backing group and his children Charles Berry Jr. and Ingrid Berry.

According to a statement released by Berry's estate following his death, the new LP - titled Chuck and announced a year ago on the guitarist's 89th birthday - is still very much in the works. "While our hearts are very heavy at this time, we know that Chuck had no greater wish than to see this album released to the world, and we know of no better way to celebrate and remember his 90 years of life than through his music", read the statement. The entire project was written, recorded and produced by Berry himself, and dedicated to his wife of 68 years, Themetta "Toddy" Berry. Berry was 90 at the time of his death. Now I can hang up my shoes!'

"Chuck Berry was rock's greatest practitioner, guitarist, and the greatest pure rock "n" roll writer who ever lived". Inside the home, first responders observed an unresponsive man and immediately administered lifesaving techniques.

'Unfortunately, the 90-year-oldman could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at 1.26pm. The police added in their statement that the family had asked for privacy during their time of bereavement.
