Game Freak Recruitment Has People Hoping for "Pokémon" on Switch

20 March, 2017, 21:17 | Author: Nadine Todd

"He also started directing main series Pokemon games starting with fire red and leaf green". Some recent posts on job recruitment site Indeed have people crossing their fingers, because Pokémon developer Game Freak is looking for some console-level talent.

While Game Freak does make other franchises, there are reports circulating in Japan that this is connected to Pokemon Sun and Moon switch versions. Whether the ads are for the same game or not is unclear.

Reported by Siliconera, the adverts offer the chance to "work on the development of a globally popular RPG", specifically saying a console title.

The project remains unspecified on the description, but it does go on to say that the work would entail producing models for characters, monsters, and items.

If "Wii U and PS Vita" doesn't scream "Nintendo Switch", I don't know what does.

Now, of course nothing has been confirmed, but there have been rumors since late a year ago about a Pokémon game making its way over to the Switch.

I could see Nintendo porting Pokemon Sun and Moon to the Switch, though that would take some time since the 3DS is vastly different from the Switch.

The contracts will run up until May 2018 at the latest, so if it is indeed a new Pokémon on the Switch, we might hear something at this E3 if Nintendo is feeling generous with information.

The game being "released for a long time" would seem to indicate that whatever is being made already exists in some form or another, which falls in line with the idea that it could be a Sun/Moon re-release.
