No truth in Tuchel to Arsenal reports

German newspaper Bild claimed that the Dortmund boss "has received a request from Arsenal", with Wenger's future under increasing scrutiny.

The veracity of the story has been disputed however, and Arsenal have moved to deny it.

"Even those fans that are supportive [of Wenger] I don't think they would be jumping in the air at the announcement of a new contract". I wouldn't trust Wenger now - and it is tragic to say this - I wouldn't trust him with £10 to buy me a good sandwich, period.

Arsene Wenger is expected to tell Arsenal he wants to stay at the club beyond the end of the season, according to The Telegraph.

The former Leicester City star thinks managers will be "scrambling over each other" in order to take over from Wenger, who will reveal his decision over his future soon.

The Gunners suffered a 3-1 defeat at West Brom on Saturday to leave them five points below the top four teams in the Premier League standings. That will be put to the test if and when Wenger does tell them that he's not quite done at the club yet. A plane was flown over the stadium that read: "No contract #Wenger Out".

Despite all such criticism, West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis said, "I'll be surprised if he goes". 'It's not the last result that will decide what I will do.

"It will not necessarily be linked with that because I've done the top four 20 times". "I don't judge other people", said Wenger. "If you're asking me what Arsenal should or shouldn't do I'm the wrong person". "We need to fight", said Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain afterwards, but actions speak louder than words and on Saturday, his Arsenal players' lack of that very quality left Wenger looking a lonely man indeed.
