Showers and warmer temperatures ahead

20 March, 2017, 10:47 | Author: Mae Harvey
  • Your planning forecast shows our next shot of rain moving in and a return to more seasonable temperatures just before the start of spring Monday

Sunday, the sun will return and we will have mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 70s along with drier afternoon conditions.

We can't completely rule out a couple afternoon showers, but it looks like most of the rain is going to hold off until this evening. Overnight lows will only be in the lower 60s. The chance of rain continues for Wednesday but right now it doesn't appear as if it will be all that heavy or last for very long. Our skies will begin to clear as that low pressure system and cold front move southeast, and we'll even get a little sunshine Wednesday afternoon. After a chilly morning with temperatures in the low 30s, Monday is looking to be the warmest day of this coming week. It's been a lovely day with sunshine this afternoon and temperatures up near 50 degrees.

The rain comes with a cold front, with highs in the 50s. This will bring a high fire danger to our area today into Monday so refrain from any outdoor burning. Highs tomorrow will surge into the low to mid-70s, with a comfortable southerly breeze.

We'll have a wind shift to the south, southwest through the day as temperatures go up to the low 60s.

- After a week of winter weather, the Triangle will feel a bit more like spring on Sunday with temperatures in the 50s and 60s.
