Bill Gates, the richest man on the planet, doesn't agree with President Donald Trump's plan to cut aid for the world's poorest.

President Donald Trump fell several spots n the rankings to No. 544 with assets of $3.5 billion from his television and real estate holdings. Last year, they estimated him to be worth upwards of $3.7 billion. "Lately, the neighborhood has been struggling, relatively speaking".

The number of billionaires in the world hit a record high past year, with more than 2,000 people holding the distinction, Forbes revealed in its annual list of the world's billionaires released on Monday.

Trump has disputed Forbes' estimates in the past, particularly regarding the worth of his brand which - unlike real estate - is more hard to value. "After declining a year ago, the fortune of steel and power clan, whose matriarch Savitri Jindal chairs the OP Jindal Group, rose as steel prices recovered", Forbes said.

"The change in the number of billionaires - up 233 since the 2016 list - was the biggest in the 31 years that Forbes has been tracking billionaires globally".

The US has the most billionaires with its 565, next comes China at 319, Germany is third with 114, and India with 101 takes fourth spot.

Mr Trump also spent millions of dollars on his campaign, which he claims to have self-funded, though this is fiercely disputed.

First and second place are occupied by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, according to Forbes, with fortunes of $86 billion and $75.6 billion, respectively.

Goodnight's personal fortune soared to $9.4 billion as of March 20, Forbes reported Monday morning as part of its annual "World's Billionaires' list".

Herb Simon, owner of the Indiana Pacers, is No. 717 on the list with $2.8 billion in net worth, up from $2.3 billion in 2014. His net worth jumped to $86 billion from $75 billion past year. "The world's biggest steelmaker also got a reprieve from import tariffs on steel imposed by the US and Europe and a one-time $832 million saving from a new labour contract signed past year with its USA workers", it added. Trump also got a boost from an increase in land values in lower Manhattan where he holds the 40 Wall Street tower.
