  • War Machine looks down in court as a juror reads his verdict

After eight days of testimony and nearly two days of deliberations, War Machine, who changed his name from Jonathan Koppenhaver, was found guilty on 29 of 34 charges - including domestic violence, sexual assault, kidnapping and coercing witnesses - in the beatings of porn star Christy Mack and her friend Corey Thomas in August 2014.

"He did it. He used fists to punch the face", Leiderman said Thursday of the attacks on Mack. "What that says to domestic violence victims is that even if you don't report it right away, a jury can still believe you".

Mackinday, a former adult film actress who used the stage name Christy Mack, spent two days testifying during the trial about her life with Koppenhaver, the repeated abuse she endured and the hourslong attack that led to his August 15, 2014, arrest.

Jay Leiderman, War Machine's lawyer, said brain injuries and a cocktail of drugs - including Adderall, Lexapro, and steroids - combined with rage and shock and led to a situation in which "someone loses their mind".

Mack, 24, spent eight hours on the witness stand, crying as she said she was beaten and raped by Koppenhaver several times in the months before the August 2014 attack on her and Thomas.

Mack testified that Koppenhaver attacked her after Thomas left.

War Machine is scheduled to be sentenced on June 5 in Las Vegas.

Mack - star of Cherry Spot 2, Hooker Hookups and Porn in the US 1, among others - dated Thomas for two months before Koppenhaver arrived at her home unexpectedly. She also had a ruptured liver that prevented doctors from initially operating on her for fear of putting her under anesthesia.

Koppenhaver was arrested a week later in the Los Angeles suburb of Simi Valley, and was returned to Nevada. The former "Ultimate Fighter" competitor could be sent to life without the possibility of parole as a result of the conviction. His final fight was in 2013.
