First day of spring could bring showers, thunderstorms

Monday: Spring has officially sprung! North wind 5 to 14 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour. Thursday night, mostly cloudy, with a low around 39.

The National Weather Service predicts winds today in Topeka will start out coming from the southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour before shifting to come from the north in the afternoon.

Tuesday will bring some early sun, but then the sky will become partly to mostly cloudy. South-southeast wind 7 to 10 miles per hour.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. North wind 7 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 22 miles per hour. Cloudy, with a high near 55. North wind 5 to 14 miles per hour.

Monday night more humidity starts moving into the area so we'll wake up Tuesday in the 50's, close to 60 in spots.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 85.

Thunderstorms and showers are likely Friday after 8 a.m. before an expected weekend of sunny skies. Cloudy, with a low around 57.

Friday, March 24 - Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 20. Cloudy, with a low around 43. Highs 62 to 68.

Following sporadic showers here and there Monday night, the next morning arrives with clouds and expected highs in the lower 60s. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Right now it looks like most of the rain and snow will pass north of the area, but we'll track that potential through the week.

Wednesday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Tonight, the clouds continue with a 30 percent chance of showers and storms.

Low tides: 8:17 a.m. and 8:42 p.m.

Tuesday: Showers likely, with possible thunderstorms after noon, some producing small hail.
