Manito was released Friday evening, but his immigration status could complicate matters.

A handgun and two rifles were seized by police Wednesday, March 8, after reports were made that a Dixon High School student was armed with a gun.

ICE officials said Saturday that they had placed a "detainer" on the suspect following his arrest.

"What's really concerning is that, had I not followed him along and asked him why he was here he would have just left the building", Shirola said.

Prosecutors chose to defer charges to allow more time for police investigation on the case, according to a spokesman for the Hennepin County Attorney's Office.

Dixon Police say there is no information to suggest the student planned to harm anyone.

"What we have to determine the capacity of willingness of the student, even though he's a 19-year-old, to consent to sex", said Brooklyn Park Deputy Chief Mark Bruley. "The question is if that student had the mental capacity to willingly consent to the act".

Authorities say the suspect has a Washington driver's license, and apparently moves around the country on a regular basis. They are also not in any way connected with the school. Police will investigate the case next week, Bruley said.

Other students noticed this unwelcome visitor and reported it to school staff. School administration and security personnel were able to apprehend the suspect and law enforcement took him into custody. "Anoka-Hennepin schools is really serious about protecting the safety and security of our students".
