  • Jeff Bezos Tests out Gigantic Robot Suit

We can't imagine why, but here ya go: Jeff Bezos in a giant mechanical robot suit. Woo!

The robot was designed by South Korean company Hankook Mirae Technology and is nearly 14 feet tall, according to the company's website.

Information on the MARS conference itself-that's Machine learning, home Automation, Robotics, and Space exploration-is a bit scant, although it has been reported in the past as an "exclusive, invite-only conference" that had "celebrities and lightsabers".

That would be too much of a risk for the billionaire who is also now the fifth richest person in the world, The Verge reports.

"Why do I feel so much like Sigourney Weaver", said Bezos, showing off the sense of humor CEOs are renowned for.

There were even reports that the billionaire asked the audience to bow down before their new king and master, "Metal Jeff", according to The Verge.

The robot, dubbed Method 2, was developed by South Korea's Hankook Mirae Technology and designed by Hollywood concept artist Vitaly Bulgarov.

The movement of the robot is limited to arms only, but as the video mentions, it's also capable of walking.

It was created by a team of 30 at a company called Hankook Mirae Technology, which at the time didn't have a website, and apparently would set you back $US8.3 million if you wanted one.

It first garnered media attention in December 2016 after Bulgarov shared a video of the robot on his Facebook page, but very few technical details have been released. When the robot can only move its arms and legs like a big robo-baby, yes is probably the answer.
