Spicer Downplays Manafort's 'Limited Role' on Team Trump

21 March, 2017, 12:01 | Author: Mae Harvey

"Your pooler inquired about who POTUS will the meeting and calls are with".

Trump's preferred course by far is the one closest to his Florida home: Trump International Golf Club.

"We are still at the beginning phase of a look as to what kind of surveillance took place and why", Spicer told reporters at his daily briefing at the White House.

For the most part, aides have declined to confirm that Trump was playing golf on weekends in Florida, instead repeatedly telling reporters that the President "may" hit a few balls at his course but that they didn't know for sure.

Such confirmation is rare. Spicer essentially said it is different because Trump conducts meetings on the golf course. Trump tweeted a number of times about Obama going golfing, but now has already made 10 visits to his Trump-branded golf courses in only his first eight weeks as president.

"I'm going to be working for you".

Mr. Spicer said he has no problem with his boss's tweeting. I would not be a president that takes time off...

Today is the 59th day of Trump's presidency. "He played more golf previous year than Tiger Woods". In fact, at this point, it might just as well serve the United States if Trump spent 7 days a week playing golf rather than getting his dirty fingerprints on everything.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer had another heated briefing on Monday, defending everything from President Trump's Twitter feed to his golf game. While hosting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Palm Beach last month, Trump also played a full round with the foreign leader and professional golfer Ernie Els. Only one time - while hosting Abe - did the President also visit Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter.

Spicer: Okay, Jonathan, somebody's asking a question. Golf blog NoLayingUp.com later revealed Trump played 18 holes with four-time major champion Rory McIlroy.

The president said the allegations are "fake news" that were made up by political rivals as an excuse for losing the presidential election.

"According to a reporter who was in Florida with the president, Trump spent more than four hours at his golf club before returning to Mar-a-Lago, where he is expected to have dinner with Marvel CEO Isaac Perlmutter", a report from The Hill noted. The White House said Trump had "meetings and phone calls" at the club and wouldn't say whether he was golfing.
