  • Jeff Bezos net worth rose more than any other billionaire on Forbes 2017 Billionaires List

This year Forbes ranked a record 2,043 billionaires.

Following Sy in the list is JG Summit founder, John Gokongwei Jr. whose ranking went up to 250 from last year's 270. Besoz showed the biggest increase, with his net worth shooting up from $27.6 billion from a year ago. Previous year the Amazon founder was ranked fifth.

The president's fortune has dropped by approximately $1 billion since previous year (roughly the price of one election), which caused him to sink DEEP in Forbes' latest ranking of the world's billionaires!

Joining them in the top five were Berkshire Hathaway founder Warren Buffet ($75.6 billion), Amazon head honcho Jeff Bezos ($72.8 billion), and Spanish business tycoon Amancio Ortega ($71.3 billion).

Alhough famed Silicon Valley executives Mark Zuckerberg and Larry Ellison are in the top 10 with $56 billion and $52.2 billion, respectively, the technology industry did not dominate the front end of the list.

Forbes said that much of the decline in Trump's net worth is due to softness in the midtown Manhattan real estate market.

The United States has the most billionaires on the list (565), with China and Germany following, boasting 319 and 114 billionaires, respectively.

2,043 billionaires (up from 1,810 in 2016) made the list, with an average net worth of $3.75 billion.

As the New York's real estate market has slowed, Forbes began downgrading Trump's net value past year, saying in October that his net worth was down to $3.7 billion. "Lately, the neighborhood has been struggling, relatively speaking".

Graeme Hart, 61, is the world's 133rd richest billionaire and New Zealand's richest person.

According to the list published on Monday, his current position leaves him tied with 19 others as the 544th richest person in the world, CNN reported.

The number of billionaires increased 13 percent compared to 2016, the magazine noted, from 1,810 to 2,043.

He is richer than entrepreneur Richard Branson, who is ranked No 324 and worth US$5b ($7b).
