Chris Stewart brought the Wild back from a 4-2 deficit against Winnipeg on Sunday night, but Minnesota still lost 5-4.

ABOUT THE WILD (43-21-6): Leading scorer Mikael Granlund saw his four-game point streak come to an end Saturday but has recorded three goals and two assists over the last five games to push his career-high point total to 65.

Morrissey's fifth goal of the season through a screen by teammate Patrik Laine hit the post and went past Devan Dubnyk for his third game-winning marker. First Andrew Copp scored to make it 1-0, then Adam Lowry scored on the power play to make it 2-0 and lastly Ben Chiarot scored to make it 3-0.

Connor Hellebuyck was pulled for the eighth time this season at the end of the second period after stopping 31 of 35 shots for the Jets. I've been lucky to play with a lot of great hockey players, so it's just been a real good start to the career. Michael Hutchinson made 13 saves, including a pad save against Matt Dumba in the final seconds to secure the win. "We have enough guys that can put the puck in the net, we need to get better at other aspects of our game to have a fighting chance at being the team we want to be", captain Blake Wheeler told the Winnipeg Free Press. Minnesota has outscored Winnipeg 17-11 in four victories this season - the latest being a 6-5 road triumph on February 28.

The Wild broke through when Zach Parise outmuscled Mark Stuart behind the Jets net and fed Coyle, who one-timed his 16th goal of the year over Hellebuyck's blocker at 9:23.

Third-period action included Chiarot blocking a shot that could have given Stewart a hat trick and Byfuglien taking a penalty with just over two minutes left that the Jets managed to kill off.

Staal is the 311th player in league history to reach 1,000 games, and the fifth for the Wild franchise.
