Stephen Bannon reportedly calls Jared Kushner a 'cuck' and a 'globalist'

According to Axios, Bannon reportedly told allies of his, "I love a gunfight".

Bannon was part of the Principals Committee, "a group of high-ranking officials who meet to discuss pressing important national security priorities", the Associated Press reported.

The shift was orchestrated by Lieutenant-General H R McMaster, Mr Trump's National Security Adviser, who insisted on purging a political adviser from the Situation Room, where decisions about war and peace are made.

Before joining the Trump campaign last summer, Bannon helmed Breitbart News, a site that he said was a platform for the alt-right, a loose assemblage of anti-establishment conservatives that includes anti-Semites, as well as some Jews and some fierce defenders of Israel.

"One official said Bannon has lately complained about Kushner trying to "shiv him and push him out the door" and likened him to a fifth column in the White House", The Daily Beast's Asawin Suebsaeng reports. "I was put on to ensure that it was de-operationalized".

A senior administration official says Bannon can still attend NSC meetings when he wants to, with the president's consent. 68 percent sure he doesn't mean literally here.

Kushner's then-positive relationship with Bannon seems to have been a factor in Breitbart's coverage - in mid-February, the website aggregated a piece claiming that Kushner has "become a backer of chief strategist Steve Bannon's nationalist-populist agenda" and that "Kushner has even proposed knocking down the walls between his and Bannon's office, a sign of how close the two are".

But the battle in the White House between Steve Bannon and his top nemesis, Jared Kushner, apparently will not end with Bannon's so-called demotion.

Mr Karl Rove, who as senior adviser to former USA president George W Bush was not allowed to join national security meetings, said Mr Bannon's removal was a move back to a better process.

Trump might also have political reasons to reign in Bannon.

The animosity between Bannon and Kushner, who serves as a senior advisor to Trump, is an open secret within the White House.

"[Steve] recently vented to us about Jared being a "globalist" and a 'cuck, '" an unnamed White House official told The Daily Beast, adding: "He actually said 'cuck, ' as in 'cuckservative'".
