Howard Stern says Sean Spicer is 'embarrassing' but 'entertaining as hell'

At town hall, GOP Rep. Coffman says Sean Spicer 'needs to go.' "I just don't think he's serving the president well".

Howard Stern is now the latest to chime in on the puzzling comment White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer made about Adolf Hitler in a press briefing on Tuesday.

Spicer later apologized for his "inappropriate and insensitive reference to the Holocaust".

"We didn't use chemical weapons in World War II", Spicer told the press corps.

Speaking with reporters one week after a chemical attack killed 87 civilians and injured over 550 in Idlib province, Spicer said that Assad's tactics were not utilized by Hitler, "who didn't even sink to using chemical weapons". And while the ADL acknowledged his apology, it said it wasn't enough - especially after an earlier misfire where Spicer defended a White House Holocaust Remembrance Day statement that failed to mention Jews.

Johnson also said it was a "great shame" that the United Kingdom was unable to take military action to punish Syrian President Bashar Assad for allegedly using chemical weapons, as the House of Commons had scuppered a proposal for British involvement. "Any attack on innocent people is reprehensible and inexcusable". "The conflict in Syria is horrific, and Assad's regular use of chemical weapons, decades after they were banned, is abominable".

Spicer said his gaffe was "painful to myself" and was "disappointing because I think I've let the president down".

"While Jewish families across America celebrate Passover, the chief spokesman of this White House is downplaying the horror of the Holocaust", she said in a statement. "It is important to remember that Hitler did in fact use chemical weapons to murder 6 million Jews in the Holocaust, as well as millions of other innocent individuals". "... I hope each person can understand that part of existing is understanding that when you do something wrong, if own up to it, you do it". The Anne Frank Center, which famed lawyer Alan Dershowitz has derided as "tiny" and "phony", also called for Spicer to be fired.

The White House Press secretary serves as a messenger between the president and the American people.
