James Gunn to write, direct 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'

ET spoke with the 37-year-old actor at the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 press junket in Los Angeles on Tuesday, where he talked about going shirtless in the film.

Near the end of Guardians Of The Galaxy, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finally unwraps the birthday gift his mother gave him all those years ago, and it's another awesome mixtape.

Directed and written by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is produced by Marvel Studios' president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nik Korda and Stan Lee serving as executive producers.

Beginning by answering a couple of questions that he knew he was going to get asked during the press tour, Gunn then went straight to "the question that comes up perhaps the most is, 'What's the deal with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and are you going to direct?'"

The sequel features original stars Pratt and Saldana, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, who return to voice Rocket and Baby Groot respectively, and Dave Bautista, who reprises his role of Drax.

'He's a remarkable filmmaker, ' he gushed. "A little bit darker and will continue to expand and carry the story forward in a way that is really unexpected and you wouldn't have imagined".

These guys are all saying the same things, but I like that they're all saying that the sequel will be scarier, darker, and more suspenseful.

However, unfortunately, there is no update on the plot of "Jurassic World 2". "When they are present with me, I get to be present with me as well".

Who do you want to see on the next iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy after Vol. 3? And he, like, you saw it in his eyes, thought, 'I've seen it on TV or in the movie, but I guess my dad really does fly a spaceship for work'.

Jurassic World 2 is expected to hit theaters on sometime mid-2018.
