Masters champion Willett likely to miss cut

Danny Willett is facing a strong possibility of missing the cut at The Masters, just one year after winning the tournament, following a horror show on the first hole at Augusta. The mark also was met by Jimmy Demaret in 1940 and Herman Keiser in 1946.

Danny Willett of England hits off the fourth tee in second round play during the 2017 Masters golf tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta April 7, 2017.

"It usually takes five or six times to get into this". Patrick Reed, who finished his college career at Augusta State, was 9 over. "Playing Augusta at the weekend would be nice with the (good) weather coming in, but we had that in our own hands and unfortunately we let that slip".

Matsuyama's 2017 has started remarkably, finishing either first or second in his first six starts. "They've watched. They're learning more". You've achieved the greatest height in your game. Garcia is one of the greatest players in the modern day era not to have won a major.

"This is my third and I'm still learning", he said.

"There's been a lot of thought gone into it about how we can embrace British culture and hopefully they enjoy a little taste of Yorkshire", the 29-year-old from Sheffield told reporters on Tuesday.

Floyd noted how hard it would be to putt from off the front edge to get it over the crown. Not one of golf's shining lights before the win, he went from the background to the spotlight at a pace he wasn't prepared to handle.

There's course knowledge, and then there's the terrain in your head.

Still, Willett says he is learning to adjust and is confident that he will soon rediscover his best form. "Had no fear. No demons". "I'm just going to keep trying to play with feel, and it's been working this year, things have been working".

"The second year, that was a big difference".

"Golf is tough", Watson said to a media member. "There's still pressure that you put on yourself and that people I guess put on you to kind of play well".

Last year's Masters victor Danny Willett and first-time Masters golfer Tyrrell Hatton performed some synchronized skipping this week on the 16th hole.

Knowing what's ahead might be better, but the Masters is a major creator of anxiety.

"I think that will go down quite nicely this evening", he said. "I don't think it's necessarily watching, but making sure you're doing your homework and you know what you're doing".

Willett's troubles began when he shanked his second shot on the first from an awkward stance on the edge of a fairway bunker, the World No.17 hitting a good recovery through the green but then failing to find the putting surface with his next two chips.

"I've played pretty good", he confirmed.
