Nintendo Switch North America Sales Figures Revealed

Fiscal-year earnings release set for April 27.

The console sold more than 906,000 units in the US last month, the Japanese company said, citing data from industry tracker NPD Group.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild also set new records as it's become Nintendo's fastest-selling launch game of all time, as well as the fastest-selling entry in the Zelda series.

This is not very surprising, as the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is one of the biggest games that is available for the Nintendo Switch at the time of launch and the attach rate between the console and this game is nearly one to one. Both the system and the game's sales numbers are likely a testament to what an incredible launch game-and truly unique Zelda title-Breath of the Wild really is. For more info on the console's sales, you can check out the full press release from Nintendo below.

While "Breath of the Wild" has sold more copies than the Nintendo Switch, it does not mean that the console did not sell well. Nintendo at least admits that they are having supply problems, partly because they didn't expect the Switch to sell this fast.

Nintendo has finally revealed numbers for the Nintendo Switch - the fastest selling console in Nintendo history.

The Nintendo Switch is selling fast and breaking records at Nintendo. Once Nintendo rectifies its Switch supply issues, the game will likely enjoy another surge in sales, as it is now the biggest game in the console's library, and looks to retain that title for the foreseeable future. Or it may be attributed to imprecise data collection methods, or a continued shortage of Nintendo Switch consoles. They include Mario World, Mario Kart, ARMS, Minecraft, and Splatoon 2.

The report further suggests that Nintendo Switch mini could sell 6.7 million units in 12 months through March 2019 and the standard Nintendo Switch will have sold 25.7 million units by then. Nintendo has a decent selection of games that are sprinkled throughout the rest of the year for the console, which will hopefully keep the momentum going strong.
