Switch sells 906000 units in March in the U

20 April, 2017, 13:42 | Author: Nadine Todd

925,000 of those copies were on the Switch and 460,000 were sold on the Wii U.

This is similar to the debacle of the Galaxy Note 7 being followed by the Galaxy S8.

The Nintendo Switch has been on the market for nearly a month and a half and in that time it has become the fastest selling console in Nintendos history.

We'll have a clearer picture on April 27th, when Nintendo will reveal the global sales figure during its fiscal earnings report.

And now we have a number to put to that claim: "The Nintendo Switch system sold more than 906,000 units in March", according to Nintendo. Do you think Nintendo's newest console will be successful as the Wii had been?

The company's latest console just became the fastest selling video game system in the U.S.in the company's history.

Nintendo recently revealed that their launch game for the Nintendo Switch, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" actually outsold the console it was exclusive to. This means that not only did the Switch sell more, but it also did it in a shorter span of time.

Regardless of the reasons, on a pure software-to-hardware sales ratio basis, Breath of the Wild can easily be considered the biggest system seller in the history of the industry (at least in the US). The rendering of the game on the Nintendo Switch is astounding, with sharp and bright screens with powerful stereo speakers.

According to the NPD Group, Nintendo came out on top during March.

Congrats to Nintendo for setting great sales records. Switch's numbers, nevertheless, are great considering its a handheld console.

In addition to Payday 2, THQ Nordic offered up two new games heading to the console this year with Sine Mora EX and the very cool looking BattleChasers: Nightwar. Early feedback suggests it's a game of surprising depth and nuance that makes excellent use of the Switch's Joy Con controllers. Plus, for the price of a stationary console, you get a console and a handheld in one.
