Koeman wants 'improved' top scorer Lukaku to stay at Everton

21 April, 2017, 20:27 | Author: Alberta Rodriguez

Koeman stated this month that Lukaku told him he will not sign a new contract, prompting increasing speculation that he could be signed by a European powerhouse in the next transfer window. Koeman said his side could take advantage of the London team's woeful home record of just six league wins in 16 games.

Everton have built around the Belgian smartly, and play completely to his strengths; he thrives on good service from both the flanks and through the middle, and Koeman has seemingly instructed his players to give Lukaku the ball whenever possible. "Every team wants goalscorers because they make points for the team".

"Greg's got a fracture to his leg which means he'll be out for the rest of the season, but hopefully he'll be back for pre-season", said Preston manager Simon Grayson.

Everton's habit of drawing away games (they've drawn four of their last seven) means we wouldn't put anyone off backing the stalemate, but the value looks to us to lie in the goals market. "If you do that you have a real opportunity to finish fifth or sixth", added the 54-year-old Dutchman.

Everton's on-loan forward Enner Valencia is ineligible to face his parent club.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has dismissed claims he and striker Diafra Sakho had a row and says he expects him to be fit for the visit of Everton on Saturday.

Slaven Bilic's side have a patched-up defence, and are unlikely to be able to field New Zealand global centre-back Winston Reid, and Ronald Koeman's men will hope to extend a record that has seen them lose just once in their last 17 matches against this weekend's opposition. "Randolph has been waiting for his chance for a long time and he has done well for us".

Bilic was mindful that his team has a habit of surrendering leads however.

They have dropped an unrivalled 22 points from winning positions, their joint-worst return for a single Premier League season.

He's working hard and improving and with five games to go he can reach a really high total.

"We have five games left and there are 15 points available".
