NFL Mock Draft | What if a QB goes No 1?

21 April, 2017, 17:10 | Author: Alberta Rodriguez

So it wouldn't be surprising to find out that those teams in search of a quarterback are looking to move some picks or get out of the top 10. If they want to draft Trubisky, there is only one way they can guarantee he becomes their property and that is to select him with the first pick in the draft.

The San Francisco 49ers now own that second pick. If the Bills look to add a quarterback at No. 10, Deshaun Watson should be their guy if available and looks to have a mighty promising career in the NFL.

He led the Seahawks to the playoffs in his first season as starter but lasted just one more year in Seattle before moving on to Cincinnati. A team that craves Garrett may well be willing to make the move up.

But let's take a look at a multitude of reasons why the Browns could easily justify selecting the North Carolina quarterback with their first selection.

No college quarterback covered more aerial real estate last season than Mahomes, whose 5,052 passing yards gave him a 400-yard cushion anyone else in the country. Though they too are looking for a quarterback, new general manager John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan are ready to get Garrett if the Browns pass, USA Today reported.

Some analysts had him going to the Chargers at No. 7 overall in mock drafts, but with Philip Rivers coming off his sixth Pro Bowl, the franchise seems more likely to draft a potential successor on Day 2 or Day 3. A team that wants to move up balks at what they have to do to get San Francisco's second pick and instead moves on to a cheaper Bears offer.

There's a solid chance Thomas goes No. 2 to the 49ers.

If, for instance, the Browns like Stanford defensive end Solomon Thomas better than Garrett, it would behoove them to try to trade down.

The smoke surrounding the Buffalo Bills and the quarterbacks in the 2017 NFL Draft continues to swirl.

The possibilities and dream scenarios for the Bears are endless.
