In a blog post commenting on how the company will be teaming up with DxO to work on the upcoming smartphone's camera, OnePlus itself refers to the new phone as being the OnePlus 5.

With regards to the DxO partnership, OnePlus still hasn't given too much away, but Etienne Knauer, SVP Sales & Marketing at DxO, said: "OnePlus has always been one of the leading innovators in the smartphone industry, and we are proud to partner with them and support their exciting mobile photography strategy".

For those who are not aware, DxO is brand behind the popular photography benchmarking site, DxOMark.

Talking about stats, DxOMarks benchmarks has ranked the HTC U11 with a rating of 90 at the top.

According to earlier rumours, the OnePlus 5 will come with a dual lens, 16MP rear camera.

OnePlus is reported to add dual-camera setup on its flagship device but the bone of contention lies in the placement of the cameras.

In a blog post, that also happens to be the first official branding of OnePlus' next phone as the OnePlus 5, the company's digital marketing manager Diego Heinz said: "There's always more to be done to give you the ability to take clearer, more lovely photos". At the second place is the Google Pixel with score of 89. Some reports, including this one, indicates that it will be vertically aligned, but other indicates that it will be aligned horizontally. The device will be backed by a 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Since we can't see the front of the handset, it's impossible to know how big the screen is and whether it will indeed keep a physical home button that would sit beneath the display.

The network published new pictures of the new smartphone OnePlus 5, before the announcement which is about another month.
