ASUS will launch its ZenFone AR (which it announced way back in January of this year) this summer, and Verizon Wireless will be the exclusive United States carrier for the handset.

The things that are most interesting about this phone, as the name suggests, are on the inside. As the first phone that can handle both Daydream and Tango, there's a lot of testing to be done to see how well all of this comes together.

Unfortunately, there still aren't any details available about the ZenFone AR's cost, though Asus did confirm that it was looking at a summer launch for the phone in the US.

Tango is an augmented reality (AR) platform that uses qualified devices to detect their users' positions relative to places and objects around them without using Global Positioning System or other external signals. With this platform, Google aims to offer a platform to developers to create a wide variety of augmented reality experiences that range from indoor navigation, indoor mapping and environmental recognition.

Asus had unveiled the world's first Tango-powered and Daydream-ready smartphone, the Zenfone AR at CES 2017 show held earlier this year in January. Through these capabilities, the ZenFone AR can detect how far it is away from a floor, wall or an object and understand where it is moving in three-dimensional space. That includes Project Tango for AR and the Daydream VR platform. Aiding in that effort is a 5.7-inch quad HD AMOLED display and over 100 Tango apps on the Google Play Store to experience on it.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Processor: The Snapdragon 821 processor used by the ZenFone AR has been specially optimized for AR operations.

The main rear camera looks to be very high-end too.
