  • Manchester United to land Oblak if De Gea leaves for Real Madrid

Worse than that, Mourinho effectively let De Gea off for the summer when he said that the next time he would play would be in Manchester United's pre-season tour in America.

United manager Jose Mourinho's decision to play Sergio Romero in the Europa League final against Ajax next Wednesday in Stockholm has added fuel to the belief that De Gea will be joining Real.

De Gea could have now played his last game for United with Mourinho set to put a third team out on Sunday for their final league game against Crystal Palace.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Ederson, who has established himself as the clubs first-choice this season, has started 27 out of 33 Primeira Liga matches, helping them to a fourth consecutive title.

Starsport understand United are ready to spend £40m on Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak.

United would demand a world-record fee for a goalkeeper of £60million, if they decide to sell the 26-year-old.

The newspaper says that United officials have already sounded out Oblak about a potential switch to Old Trafford and the Slovenian worldwide is keen to join if a deal can be agreed.

The report mentions that while United have also watched AC Milan's teenage goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, his lack of Champions League experience has given Oblak the edge.

The goalkeeper has a release clause worth a mammoth €100 million and Atletico are not prepared to lower that price for any suitor, least of all their arch-rivals in the Spanish capital.
