  • Tim Cook Reportedly Testing Glucose Monitoring Device that Connects to Apple Watch

The device also adds substance to previous rumors about Apple hiring a team of biomedical engineers to work on a noninvasive device that can monitor blood sugar levels of diabetic patients. Sadly there are no photos but the source reportedly said that the glucose monitor was physically attached to Cook's Apple Watch in some way.

The indication that a new Apple product is on the way comes after Cook told University of Glasgow students in February that he had recently been wearing a continuous glucose tracker.

Apple (NSDQ:AAPL) may be developing glucose monitoring capabilities for the next-generation version of its Apple Watch, according to a new BGR report which cites sources close to the company. The current glucose trackers on the market rely on tiny sensors and rumours suggests that the company is already conducting feasibility trials in the Bay Area. He only took it off his hand for the trip, yeah, why would he want to leak such a precious invention of the Apple team working out of Palo Alto.

According to the latest report from CNBC, the diabetes sensor, which needs to be paired with the Apple Watch, was donned by Apple's chief executive over the smartwatch. Apple is said to be working on a wearable device which constantly records blood sugar levels, but in a non-invasive way. The addition of a non-invasive blood-sugar tracker to the Watch's toolkit could be a real, immediate breakthrough for the millions of people around the world living with diabetes.

A keen fitness fanatic, Cook has apparently been using the device to monitor how his diet has been affecting his blood sugar.

"There is lots of hope out there that if someone has constant knowledge of what they are eating, they can instantly know what causes the response and that they can adjust well before they become diabetic", Cook said.

Apple are also expected to launch a range of other watch straps for the Apple Watch that will have other functions, for example a camera and more.
