"Story Remix brings your memories, or even your friends' photos and videos together to create stories with a soundtrack, theme and cinematic transitions", Terry Myerson, executive vice president of the Windows and Devices Group, wrote yesterday on the Windows blog.

As part of Microsoft's new twice-a-year update schedule for Windows, the company has announced the latest update to Windows 10, collectively called the Windows Fall Creators Update.

You can read Microsoft entire What's in Windows 10 Version 1703 for IT Pros over on Docs.com but since updating Windows is a big discussion in the news right now because of the recent mass malware infection that has flown around the globe to more than 150 countries, reading up on details around those updates for Windows 10 is important knowledge.

Another feature expands the realm of the virtual clipboard, enabling a copy and paste function from Windows to other operating systems and back again.

The Fall Creators Update will also bring new capabilities for mixed-reality experiences.

Microsoft subsequently shuttered much of its smartphone unit and redefined itself as a builder of its core Windows computer franchise as well as applications for smartphone platforms. This feature is even created to work with Android and iOS phones and devices, according to The Verge. Ahead of the update's release, Microsoft is offering developers the chance to pre-order the Windows Mixed Reality Headset Developer Edition, to be delivered this summer, from either Acer ($299) or HP ($329). Tech enthusiasts should expect the update coming out October this year, at the latest.
