  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to redeem predecessor?

For the Galaxy Note 8, it looks like Samsung is still having trouble with this kind of technology.

Samsung launched the entry-level Galaxy J3 with AT&T last month in the USA for $179, but has now revealed the rest of the lineup for European consumers.

As for the much-debated location of the fingerprint sensor, Samsung is still trying to decide what the best solution would be.

According to some reports from the South Korean media Newsis, the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 from Samsung Electronics will sport a dual camera.

There is still a long way for the Galaxy Note 8 to be unveiled, so take this info with a pinch of salt for now. Following reports that the handset had been setting on fire and burning arses, Samsung was forced to issue a recall, which later resulted in the handset being binned altogether.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted the Galaxy Note 8 will carry a 13-megapixel telephoto lens and a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens. The photo also shows the smartphone running a version of TouchWiz UI with an interface very similar to the Galaxy S8.

Galaxy Note 8 is expected to come with a 6.3-inch bezel-less infinity display and dual camera setup on its back (a 12mp wide-angle shooter coupled with a 13mp telephoto one). "With the production imminent, the company had to decide to relocate the fingerprint scanning home button to the back of the device at the last minute". Whether or not it will be placed in front is something to look out for, considering the S8 plus' sensor is hard to reach and risks smudging the rear camera. It marred the image of the company as it was the Note series that made it famous.

Samsung is still trying to get over the fiasco that happened with the Note 7 device.

There is growing evidence the upcoming Note 8 will have a dual lens camera at the rear. That said, Samsung will continue to work with companies such as CrucialTec, a firm that manufacturers optical trackpads and fingerprint scanners, on making this happen sometime in the future.
