  • Bill Cosby Goes on Trial for Sex Assault

If he's convicted, Cosby faces up to 10 years in prison on each of three felony counts and up to $25,000 in fines.

After Constand began "seeing double", she realized that her legs were weak, at which point she alleges that Cosby led her to a couch, where she "passed out".

Constand told the prosecutors that Cosby gave her three blue pills "to take the edge off".

Shortly thereafter, Constand said, she became dizzy and was feeling disoriented. After several minutes of talking, Constand said she began to slur her words and was having trouble seeing.

Constand said she worked as the director of basketball operations at Temple University, and she was introduced to Cosby at a basketball game in the fall of 2002.

They say the inconsistencies include Constand's answers on how long she had known Cosby and whether she'd ever been alone with him before the night she says he molested her. In her deposition and trial testimony, Johnson said she lost consciousness after Cosby pressured her to take a large white pill and woke up on a bed with her dress pulled down and her breast exposed.

The claim came after Andrea Constand finished more than six hours of testimony, as defense lawyers sought to undermine her credibility by portraying her as an opportunist who pursued Cosby's affections before manufacturing a story in order to go after his fortune.

Constand has never spoken about her encounter with Cosby because the terms of the civil settlement she reached with him in 2006 barred either of them from doing so. More than a decade later, as the wave of accusations began to snowball, a federal judge chose to unseal Cosby's deposition from that civil case.

More than 50 women have said that Cosby assaulted them, but the statute of limitations has run out in almost all cases.

Pulliam - who played one of Cosby's daughters, Rudy Huxtable, on The Cosby Show from 1984 to 1992 - spoke with reporters during a recess and opened up about why she was attending the first day of the trial. She also said she received another call in which her daughter claimed Cosby was pressuring her boss, the comedian's agent, to get rid of her. "Mr. Cosby is telling Tom to get rid of me".

"Why Camille is not here is something only Camille can comment on and she has chosen not to do so", Allred said. Another time, she said, he placed his hand on her thigh. "I don't want that". She said she continued to visit Cosby because "I wasn't scared of someone making a pass at me or an advance at me".

Andrea Constand claims Bill Cosby drugged and assaulted her in 2004 while she was working for Temple University's women's basketball team.

Constand, 44, of the Toronto area, is expected to take the stand this week and tell her story in public for the first time.

She alleged that Cosby put his hands under her shirt and on her genitals.

"It was a very big burden on me, but".

"He was a Temple friend, somebody I trusted, a mentor and somewhat of an older figure to me", Constand testified.

Constand reiterated what she told the court Tuesday: Cosby had made romantic overtures towards her, but she brushed him off.

The cross-examination will continue Wednesday.

Sixty women have accused Cosby of sexual misconduct, including rape.

The Other Woman: Cosby's defense was dealt a blow when an attorney who once represented Cosby's talent agency, William Morris, testified that an assistant, Kelly Johnson, complained during a 1996 worker's compensation case that the comedian had drugged and molested her.

Constand will take the stand again Wednesday.

Constand says Cosby gave her pills that left her paralyzed and then groped her. "And when she went to the hotel she was directed to (a bungalow)", Ms Sewell said.

When she asked if they were herbal, he nodded, she said. "I said, 'I'm not here for that, I don't want that'". She testified she had responded that she did not.

Cosby, who is now 79, is charged with sexually assaulting Constand in his home outside Philadelphia.
