Jaguar Land Rover noted that the Gorillaz app has a code-breaking challenge to test future engineering talent.

UK's biggest automaker Jaguar Land Rover will employ 5,000 staff as it enhances its skills in autonomous and electric innovation, a welcome business endorsement as Prime Minister Theresa May begins Brexit talks after election.

Interested applicants will be tested for "curiosity, persistence, lateral thinking and problem solving skills" in the two-stage recruitment plan.

India-based Tata Motors Limited (TTM) is considering an initial public offering for its Jaguar Land Rover subsidiary, sources told Bloomberg Monday.

In April, Jaguar Land Rover reported retail sales of 604,009 vehicles in the financial year ended March 31, 2017, up 16 percent compared to a year ago.

More than a thousand of the new 5,000 jobs at Jaguar Land Rover this year will be electronic and software engineers.

A mixed reality app launched in April, the Gorillaz App invites the viewer in to the weird and wonderful universe of The World's Most Successful Virtual Band, for the very first time. "It will be the first of its kind", Alex Heslop, JLR's head of electrical engineering, said.

Artists recording through the night used stored solar power provided by the studio's batteries, while festival goers were invited to visit the concept site during the day.

The news comes against the backdrop of concerns over the impact of Brexit on the United Kingdom automotive industry.

The company organised a convoy of 25 EVs - featuring nearly every EV now available in the United Kingdom - to travel the 100,000 metres between London and Milton Keynes. The first part of the challenge is created to educate users about the benefits of electric vehicles.
