"War for the Planet of the Apes" may have the body of an action film, but it has the soul of an art-house drama and the brains of a political thriller. There is a real story that has a beginning, middle, and end to the script, while leaving the possibility open for a fourth installment.

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel.

War for the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) and features a cast that includes Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Judy Greer, Karin Konoval, Terry Notary, Michael Adamthwaite, Gabriel Chavarria, Max Lloyd-Jones, Sara Canning, Amiah Miller, Aleks Paunovic and Chad Rook. Relying heavily on computer-generated imagery, the combination proves effective, and in an interview with Parade Magazine, the film's visual effects supervisor, four-time Academy Award victor Joe Letteri, revealed that he and his team animated each ape hair by hair, spending an unbelievable amount of time and effort to create each minute of the finished movie.

War for the Planet of the Apes continues the story first introduced in the 1963 French novel La Planète des Singes (Planet of the Apes).

The best thing about the rebooted "Planet of the Apes" film series has always been the apes.

There's a very strong argument to suggest that The Planet Of The Apes modern trilogy is one of the greatest, most rewarding film trilogies ever made.
