  • PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Getting First Person Servers

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds first-person only servers will come in the next Monthly Update, slated for the first week of August.

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds has had a first-person mode since its release earlier this year, but soon you'll be able to play in a server that forces you to play in first person. When you're using a first-person viewpoint, you don't have that ability, thus giving third-person players an advantage. Meanwhile, first-person is best for when you are engaging or firing at an enemy, attempting to zero in on landing shots and critical hits.

Following up with more information, Greene states "We will bring 1st person only to EU/NA SOLO & DUO games first, and once we have polished the system, we will expand to other regions".

Servers that are restricted to the first-person view mode have been a highly requested feature by the community since the game's inception, and will essentially make Battlegrounds a much more hardcore experience.

As far as a dedicated first-person mode, it looks like things may be more complicated than just restricting the camera.

PlayerUnknown himself, Brendan Greene has been careful on how he addresses the dedicated servers, stating on the official Discord that it would be a little while longer before players have access to them.
