The warning is in effect until 6:15 p.m.

Expect heavy rain and strong winds on Wednesday, as Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Waterloo Region. "You could hear this roar", Ron Debrouwer said from his farm near Lucan. The storms could pack wind gusts of up to 90 km/h and rainfall amounts of up to 50 mm in some areas.

Shortly before 4 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line in eastern Pennsylvania and moving quickly toward South Jersey, the weather service said.

Damaging winds are the primary threats associated with any thunderstorms that develop in Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Tulsa.

The storms have a "marginal. potential" for severe weather. AccuWeather says, showers and thunderstorms will be around into tonight. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
