  • Sen. Dean Heller R-Nev. during a press conference where he announced he will vote no on the proposed GOP healthcare bill

A threatening note against Heller was also left behind, a source claims.

Police were called to Heller's office, where they found the note, after a burglary alarm was triggered.

A break-in happened Saturday morning at the Las Vegas office of Nevada Republican Sen.

LasVegasNow.com reported that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that someone broke into Heller's office on Sunset but would not confirm the presence of a threatening note. The preliminary investigation by patrol officers determined that a burglary did not occur to the main building or to Senator Heller's office. As a Republican in a state that voted against President Donald Trump, Heller is one of the more endangered incumbent Republicans in the upcoming 2018 midterms.

Officers took a report for the letter and are investigating the incident, they said.

A spokesman for Heller said, "We can't comment on/discuss ongoing investigations".
