  • Christie Backs Travel Ban, Says Airports Must Enforce Trump Order

A top Russian-American lobbyist and military officer during the Soviet era were among those who attended a meeting with Trump Jr., son-in-law and campaign leader previous year, the lobbyist admitted on Friday.

'That's politics!' he tweets.

The New Jersey governor was referring to a meeting in which the president's eldest son met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya at Trump Tower in June 2016.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said Monday that news regarding Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer during the 2016 presidential campaign "doesn't help" ease cynicism when it comes to government, Politico reports.

While on ABC News' This Week, when asked if the President would pardon "key figures" in the Russian Federation investigation, Sekulow said he hasn't discussed the issue with Trump, and that if he had, it would be protected under attorney-client privilege.

For Trump, Kushner and Manafort to meet with this Russian lawyer stooge at the Trump Tower in NY, whose intent was to meddle with our election, was stupid at best.it is treasonous at worst.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer contradicted President Donald Trump Monday when he insisted that a meeting Donald Trump Jr. had with a Russian lawyer in the months leading up to the election was about adoption policy.

The payment came nearly two weeks before Trump Jr. revealed that he met with a Russian lawyer in order to discuss damaging information on Hillary Clinton.

"There's nothing illegal about that meeting", he later added.

But, he added, the suggestion in the emails made clear that senior members of the Trump campaign were at least aware of Russia's preference in the US election in favor of Trump as early as June 2016.

"I think the president used the term "recently" or 'relatively recently, '" Sekulow said.

The meeting would not become public knowledge for almost another two weeks.

Trump said the same during a gaggle with reporters on Air Force One as he flew to Paris last week. During his confirmation hearing last week, Christopher Wray, Trump's nominee for Federal Bureau of Investigation director, advised that any campaign official who is contacted by a foreign agent about election-related matters should inform the Federal Bureau of Investigation instead of meeting with them.

It was also recently revealed that a Clinton-backed firm allegedly commissioned an unverified intelligence dossier with allegations about Trump. "It's called opposition research", Trump said, according to Huff Post.

Trump Jr. responded in part, "if it's what you say I love it especially later in the summer".
