Trump Names Cobb as White House Special Counsel for Russia Investigation

A fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a former federal prosecutor, he has a reputation for managing crises and dealing with corruption allegations.

President Trump has hired a former federal prosecutor to assist in how the White House handles its response to the expanding Russian Federation probes.

Respondents also seem to hold a more negative view of Trump's capabilities on the world stage, with just 27% saying America's global leadership has gotten strong since he took office, while 48% believe it has gotten weaker.

Trump Jr.'s explanations of the reason for the meeting evolved after The New York Times published several stories about the meeting in recent days. But its role in vetting people who meet with a USA president or candidates is limited to ensuring physical safety.

Nevertheless, Gorelick said that after advising Kushner to look into whether to stick with her, he has opted to put criminal defense attorney Abbe Lowell at the helm for all things Russian Federation. Special Counsel Robert Mueller also has a team of crack investigators probing Russian Federation as well as issues related to potential obstruction of justice.

"As a result of this process, Jared decided that Abbe would represent him in the Russia-related inquiries".

Kushner has had to add to his security clearance form twice to note meetings with Russian individuals that went unreported, The Hill is reporting.
