  • Nearly year after filing Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reportedly pressed pause on their divorce proceedings

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in September 2016 after Brad was accused of an altercation with son Maddox during a flight to LA, allegedly due to drink. As per news reports on global publications, the former power couple, who split in September 2016, has not moved forward with proceedings to end marriage.

A source told Us Weekly: "The divorce is off".

Said the US Weekly source: "Everyone thinks they are going to get back together".

The publication further stated that Jolie's reason for the stalled was Brad coming clean about alcohol and "commitment to self-improvement" in an interview with GQ earlier in May.

Angelina, who has 16-year-old Maddox, 13-year-old Pax, 12-year-old Zahara, 11-year-old Shiloh and nine-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with Brad, recently opened up about her and Brad's separation for the first time, admitting that she was "thankful" they'd been able to remain civil.

Pitt had also started therapy to cope with his drinking and smoking, which apparently has Angelina considering taking him back.

Speaking about Brad, Angelina added: "We care for each other and care about our family, and we are both working towards the same goal".

"And three, they may be exploring getting back together."
"Things can change quickly", the source adds, "but they aren't pursuing the divorce at this time".

The 53-year-old was cleared by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and social workers and wanted joint legal and physical custody of Maddox, 16; Pax, 13; Zahara, 12; Shiloh, 11; and twins Vivienne and Knox, nine, while Jolie is demanding sole guardianship.

After filing for divorce, Angelina took the kids and stayed in a rental before purchasing a $25 million mansion in Los Feliz, California. Calling the six-bedroom, 10-bathroom estate "a big jump forward for us", in the September issue of Vanity Fair, the Oscar victor said, "We're all trying our best to heal our family".

They married in 2014 after 10 years together.

She is seeking sole custody of their children. However, Brad was later cleared of the allegations. Vanity Fair has refused to print a retraction or an apology after critics slammed Angelina for her film's exploitative and insensitive casting strategy.
