Arsenal begin the Premier League campaign with a home fixture against Leicester at the Emirates on Friday and Wenger is happy with how pre-season has gone.

Three minutes later, Leicester City equalized.

In stoppage time of the first half, Arsenal played their attractive game to make it 2-2 on the night.

It seemed like both teams were itching to get on the pitch to score goals. Just one Nigerian is on the pitch at the moment... And once again, Arsenal were statuesque at a set piece, allowing Vardy to bustle to the front post and head past Petr Cech.

That was after Lacazette and fellow summer signing Sead Kolasinac linked up in the area, with the latter squaring to Welbeck to fire into the unguarded goal.

The hosts' joy was short-lived, however, as Shinji Okazaki equalized for the Foxes within minutes.

Meanwhile, Craig Shakespeare hopes Leicester can end their Arsenal hoodoo tonight. Corner kick for the Gunners.

Arsenal beat Leicester at home, something that doesn't always happen to the Gunners, often starting the season with jitters and losses. Holding is a great prospect but he had one of those games where he struggled against the threat of Jamie Vardy and Okazaki.

Vardy has now scored four goals in his last five premier league appearances against Arsenal.

Arsenal record-signing Alexandre Lacazette got off to a flawless by scoring inside two minutes of kickoff.

The Arsenal manager faced open dissent from fans last season as his side missed out on a place in the Champions League for the first time in 20 years.

It looked to be enough for the Foxes for long spells, but two substitutes hauled the Gunners back from the brink. Let's see how the next 45 minutes will go. Ozil is given a chance to shoot but drags his attempt a little bit of the target. Vardy knows how to score against Arsenal.

Iheanacho already brought in by Leicester....

But what lessons were learned from the opening day of the new Premier League season? I'm disappointed with the handball in the build up, but once the corner's given you have to defend it better.

With this vital goal tonight...

His 50th goal at the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger will get plenty of the plaudits once again for a dramatic opening night win which saw his two subs work perfectly.
