Ezekiel Elliott Reportedly Could Face Further Discipline for July Bar Incident

Elliott, 22, is accused by former girlfriend Tiffany Thompson of five domestic assault incidents in July 2016 in Columbus, Ohio, and has been under National Football League investigation, although the city attorney's office already announced he will not face criminal charges. His first possible game will be Week 8 at Washington.
It was rumoured in recent weeks that Elliott could receive a short suspension prior to the start of the season, after allegations he assaulted a former girfriend. One of his agents didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
The NFL however does hold the power to penalize a player without legal charges.
The ruling requires Elliott to get an evaluation to determine whether he needs counseling or treatment, and to show proof that he is following up on any recommendations that are made.
National Football League officials said in a statement Friday that it investigated Elliott's case thoroughly and determined that he violated the personal conduct policy.
On Friday, the NFL suspended Elliott for the first six games of the season without pay for violating the league's personal conduct policy.
"Dallas police closed their investigation into the incident, however, two days later because the alleged victim wasn't cooperating in the case", George wrote.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is reportedly "furious" with the league's decision to suspend Elliott, according to ESPN. The Cowboys have not announced whether Elliott will play at all during the preseason.
