Rafael Benitez found himself caught in a storm as he tried to watch Newcastle's Premier League victory over Swansea from his armchair.

Mark Hughes was left disappointed with Stoke's finishing after they fell 2-1 at Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.

Jamal Lascelles was the hero for Newcastle for the second week in a row as he grabbed the victor in a 2-1 win over Stoke City at St. James' Park on Saturday.

"Stoke come into this game off the back of what probably felt like a win against Man United", said Ince to the Express.

But manager Benitez was keeping his feet firmly on the ground as he celebrated a successful return to the dug-out.

Xherdan Shaqiri had levelled for Stoke following Christian Atsu's opener, but Lascelles proved to be the match-winner for the second straight weekend.

"What is important for us was to start winning and now it is to keep the momentum", the Spaniard told BBC 5 Live.

The home side grabbed the victor though when Ritchie put a good ball into the box from a corner which was met and turned home by Lascelles, with 68 minutes played. We know the standards we want now, and every player knows we can win against anyone if we work hard'.

The hosts' string of missed chances came back to haunt them when Shaqiri took a pair of touches outside the box before curling a fine low finish inside the right post.

"We're doing okay after a tough period of fixtures".

Newcastle will go into this fixture full of confidence having won their last two Premier League games. "We have a game in the League Cup in midweek and Chelsea at our place, so they keep coming thick and fast".
