  • He is near divine — he has supernatural powers to achieve the impossible

Cabinet colleagues, political adversaries, envoys and his admirers among the masses wished him on his 67th birthday.

Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Berlin, Germany in May this year.

As part of the saffron party's plan to celebrate Modi's birthday as Seva Diwas across the country, BJP National President Amit Shah attended different programmes in Ranchi while Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was at Kirti Nagar in Delhi, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal in Chennai and Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar in Mumbai. All the ministers and party leaders will participate in various programs across the country.

With the BJP celebrating "Sewa Diwas" on the occasion, Shah said that several organisations and NGOs, particularly the youth-driven groups are undertaking a wide range of social service initiatives.

Like every year, the Prime Minister began his 67th birthday celebration seeking his mother Heeraben's blessings at Gandhinagar in Gujarat. PM Modi himself is on a tour of his hometown Gujarat for two days and residents of Surat celebrated his birthday by cutting a 68 feet long and 680 kilogram cake.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi took to twitter to wish PM Modi on his birthday.

Cricketer Suresh Raina tweeted a photo with PM Modi and said "you motivate and drive people to do best". Also, the other BJP members including some big figures wished him birthday. After this, Modi will go to the closing ceremony of Narmada festival and address the gathering in Dabhoi.

He also claimed that Prime Minister Modi has worked extensively towards poverty alleviation, and under his supervision, the government has undertaken "historic poverty alleviation initiatives (that are) taking shape at a scale unheard of in the history of India".
