However, many feel to return to the England fold and fly to Russian Federation next summer as part of the World Cup squad Wilshere needs to be playing week-in-week-out and could have to leave Arsenal in January to offer himself the opportunity.

Wilshere has made only three appearances and has not played in the Premier League since returning to Arsenal following a season on loan at Bournemouth which was curtailed by a broken leg.

The Times reports Wilshere is pondering leaving Arsenal in January in a bid to get regular first-team football, which will aid his bid to get into Southgate's midfield plans for Russian Federation.

Despite being limited to two Europa League games and the Carabao Cup so far, Wilshere has used his time on the pitch well to stake his claim for the first team.

The England worldwide is now keen to make his first appearance in the Premier League, having impressed in his limited outings thus far.

"If he plays like he is at the moment, I think he will go to the World Cup". He can open spaces, he can play in tight areas and he can get out of tight areas as well'. He didn't want me to play as a left winger. It's nearly like a No. 10 position, if you like.

"You can come into that position, and me and Theo (Walcott) were switching in the game".

"Don't get me wrong, I don't run the most, but my numbers are good so I'm happy". "The boss made a decision to change the shape previous year, it worked well and he's stuck with it", he added. In that transition when we lose the ball, we want to win it back quickly, like the best Arsenal teams over the years. "That's probably the best change [I have seen]".
