  • Jennifer Lawrence felt 'trapped' early in her career after producer took naked pics of her

Witherspoon didn't name the director. Since actress Alyssa Milano launched the now-viral hashtag on Sunday night, these two words have become a global movement to draw attention to women's widespread experience of sexual harassment and assault.

Lawrence said when working on "The Hunger Games" films, she was extremely conscious of the effect that harsh beauty standards can have.

"I have my own experiences that have come back to me very vividly, and I found it really hard to sleep, hard to think, hard to communicate", she said. We are stood side-by-side with only tape on covering our privates... Since the report appeared, it seems the floodgates have opened, with many of Hollywood's brightest stars, including the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Cara Delevingne, Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan and Léa Seydoux speaking out about their experiences with Weinstein, as well as countless others voicing experiences of sexual harassment and abuse within the industry.

Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon has said she was assaulted by an unnamed film director when she was 16.

Lawrence is known for speaking her mind, yet she says that didn't make a difference on this specific occasion. "One girl before me had already been fired for not losing enough weight fast enough", the actress said. After this scene, a particularly humiliating, the producer has pointed the finger at the silhouette of the actress: " She told me that I had to use these pictures of me to control my diet.

"I was trapped and I can see that now", Lawrence added.

"In a dream world, everyone is treated with the same amount of respect".

The actress went on to pledge solidarity to "any boy, girl, man, or woman who does not feel like they can protect themselves". "I've had multiple experiences of harassment and sexual assault, and I don't speak about them very often, but after hearing all the stories these past few days and hearing these fearless women speak up tonight, the things that we're kind of told to sweep under the rug and not talk about, it's made me want to speak up and speak up loudly because I felt less alone this week than I've ever felt in my entire career".

Lawrence concluded her speech by expressing support of Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy's call for a Hollywood commission against harassment, and vowing to "lend my ear". "And when I say saved, I mean momentarily been like, 'Don't, f--er!' And they are embarrassed for one second but it just keeps going every single day". "We will stop normalizing these horrific situations".
