In a clash of India's two best female shuttlers, Saina Nehwal beat World No. PV Sindhu in straight games to become the national singles champion once again after a gap of 10 years on Wednesday.

If body language was an indication of things to come, then Sindhu's tense face in the face of a series of brilliant smashes and drops said it all. The match though was far from over. While Saina prevailed in 2014, Sindhu levelled it in Delhi. Sindhu had won that battle and also a mini one before that in the Premier Badminton League semis in January.

It's catch me if you can- at this moment.

The second game saw Sindhu power ahead and at 18-14, the match seemed to be heading into a decider.

Sindhu, though, did have her moments of brilliance. Prannoy raced to 11-3 at break for eight-point advantage, which broke Srikanth's resistance as he won the game 21-7. 2-9 now, can he make a comeback?

With the lead changing hands too frequently, it was Saina who eventually broke the deadlock when Sindhu failed to retrieve a return. Prannoy defeated Shrikanth with 221-15, 16-21, and 21-7Both players keep audience excited in the interesting match with long rally.

However, they met earlier in the year in PBL 2017, where Sindhu emerged victorious and Saina will be hoping to take revenge.

Both Saina and Sindhu have won two editions each in the past.

Sindhu, who stands at 5-foot-11, plays an attacking game loaded with heavy jump smashes. Displaying great skill and deft touches at the net, as well as more patience in the rallies, he wore his opponent down. Levels it at 5-5.

At 12-9 in the first game, Sindhu let loose a full-blooded smash. Second, the state-of-theart facilities in Nagpur meant that big players did not give it a miss, unlike earlier when less-than-perfect courts presented chances of injuries. Sindhu takes on Saina.

In the women's doubles, the pair of N Sikki Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa will lock horns against Sanyogita Ghorpade and Prajakta Sawant in the final game.

Srikanth has been in the form of his life as he clinched four titles after reaching five finals this season but the statistics didn't matter on this day as Prannoy snapped his opponent's 13-match winning streak.

Ashwini and Satwik, who made a decision to pair up just six months back, showed their prowess by beating top seed and World No 16 Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy 21-9 20-22 21-17 to clinch the mixed doubles crown.

India's star shuttlers PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal will take on each other in a blockbuster women's singles final at the Senior Badminton National Championship, underway in Nagpur on Wednesday.

Where is the final between PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal?

The final at the Divisional Sports Complex was the first time since March that the pair faced off in a competitive match.

According to a tweet by Senior Badminton National Championship, the match will not start before 6 PM.

Saina Nehwal has taken the first game quite comfortably, with the score reading 21-17.
