Flipkart to launch new smartphone Billion Capture+ at Rs 10999

The Billion brand was launched by Flipkart earlier this year and offers products from clothing to electronics and now smartphones.

The Flipkart Billion Capture+ comes in two variants based on RAM and storage capacities - 3GB RAM+32GB ROM and 4GB RAM+64GB ROM configurations. Both variants come in two colours: Black and Desert Gold. The smartphone is powered by the popular Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage expandable via MicroSD up to 128GB.

The Billion Capture+ features a 5.5-inch full HD display with 401 PPI and 2.5D Dragontrail glass protection.

Bansal's attempt at building the Billion brand is one of Flipkart's supplementary bets.

The "Billion Capture+", in terms of specifications, comes with all the usual trappings you'll find on a budget phone. Touted as the Flipkart Billion Capture+, the company said has been developed keeping the Indian consumers in mind, and it's a "Made in India" smartphone. At the back, there is a horizontally placed dual-camera setup at the back, on the top left corner, with an LED flash next to it. Flipkart will offer "No Cost EMI", discounts on leading debit/credit cards for the sale of its Billion Capture+ phone. The online retailer is also touting after sales services of its Billion brand. The features in the Capture+ too have been derived from deep data-mining of millions of Flipkart customers' reviews.

In an interview, Bansal said that Flipkart will launch more products across categories such as large appliances under the Billion brand over the coming months. Hrishikesh Thite, category head, Billion said customers' major pain points in a smartphone centered around battery, camera, storage which is what they've addressed in the phone. On the connectivity front, it supports 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, Dual-SIM and micro USB port. "We're sure this customer-centricity will delight Indian smartphone buyers". As the company has set up more than 130 official service centres across 125 cities in India, so, after sale service is expected to perform smoothly.
