John Oliver Talks About The Disturbing Ways Trump Has Impacted America

"Will you help us, Mr. President?"

In July of this year, John Oliver came into possession of five wax presidents, the creepy residents of a now-defunct museum in Gettysburg, Pa.

While the previous year has seemed long, according to Oliver, "The Trump presidency is basically a marathon-painful, pointless, and the majority of you didn't agree to run, but were signed up by your dumbest friend".

He addressed a tweet from Trump on Saturday, in which the president said he "would never" call North Korean leader Kim Jong-un "short and fat".

John Oliver closed out the fourth season of "Last Week Tonight" by examining the unsafe ways in which President Donald Trump has reestablished norms in American politics.

After mocking the president's liking of Fox and Friends, Oliver said his show was going to be busy on its hiatus.

Take a look at the full clip in the video above.

Oliver also noted that the use of these tactics is precariously spreading beyond the Oval Office, citing Congressman Paul Gosar's response to the Charlottesville tragedy, in which Olivers says he was "copying Trump" in the way he used the three tactics to address the event. That super wonky and pricy move begat Oliver's movie trailer for his ideal Warren G. Harding biopic, featuring Anna Kendrick and Laura Linney acting the hell out of their wax co-star. Nevertheless, Tom Hanks is the inspirational figure we only wish could lead all of our past presidents on a world-saving mission. Even with the freakish scenario, Hanks continues talking, stating that it "isn't a one-man job" to the figure. Cue the other four statues Oliver previously purchased: Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and William Henry Harrison.

"Gentleman, let's go wax these bastards", Hanks said, as the trailer ended, giving a dramatic conclusion to Oliver's show.
