Why I attacked Tyson Fury - Anthony Joshua

  • Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn would like details for his fighter's next title defence sorted out by the end

But he'll have to wait to come up against Fury, who's waiting on a National Anti-Doping Panel hearing having been banned from boxing for nearly two years since his win over Wladimir Klitschko.

He has promised to come back to boxing before but his issues with UK Anti-Doping resulted in his boxing licence being revoked by the British Boxing Board of Control.

Fury is now awaiting a UK Anti-Doping hearing so that his suspension can be lifted and his boxing licence returned.

In recent weeks, the former Irish champion has publicly stated that he will return to the ring in a bid to reclaim his status as the world's best heavyweight fighter, with prospective rival and new kingpin Anthony Joshua demanding he do so in a recent tweet.

The 29-year-old is now in the process of shedding the considerable weight he's put on during his time away from the sport and his physical condition was recently the subject of an uncharacteristic jibe from "AJ".

"I think April of next year", Peter Fury told BBC Sport.

Fury's new-found desire to return to the ring has been fuelled by an online feud with reigning world heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua.

Meanwhile, Fury has been back in the gym as he recently posted footage of him in a session working the pads.

Fury wants to fight Anthony Joshua for his IBF, IBO and WBA world titles in what would be potentially the biggest British boxing bout of all-time. "I really don't need to get fit for you".

He addressed Joshua directly: "To be honest with you my old mate, I don't need to get fit for somebody like you at all ... even at 25 stone". "[You're] Always banging on about your loss to AJ and how great he is, at the end of they day you lost to AJ by TKO in what was a 50-50 fight right until the end. I respect and understand what he's going through". The referee had to stop it in case you got caught or beat.
