Nintendo Switch System Update 5.0.0 Mentioned In Parental Controls App Update

This means it's now easier for players see and add their social media friends to their Nintendo circle. After heading to http://accounts.nintendo.com, they need to sign in to their Nintendo Account.

The update also adds 24 new user icons from Arms and Kirby, makes the system show any coloured grips on special pro controllers - meaning your Splatoon 2 Pro Controller will show on the system as having pink and green grips - and makes a series of other small quality of life improvements. Doing so excludes the titles from the console's Parental Controls Restricted Software setting. Digital software purchases made from a PC or smart device will henceforth start downloading sooner than with the previous system. To ensure privacy, the default way to enter your PIN for Parental Controls has also been changed, with the control stick now serving as the default method, rather than the on-screen keypad.

The free app lets parents easily monitor how much their child plays on Nintendo Switch, choose how long they can play for each day, and set restrictions to limit what they can access.

Settings made using this app will now be synced to the Nintendo Switch console even when it is in sleep mode. Be sure to save any game progress before you continue.
