Skyrim for SteamVR Release Date Announced

Bethesda announced that the critically acclaimed The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR will be coming to PC, finally. But in 24 hours time of being released on pre-sale, Skyrim VR has reached the top 10 hottest selling games list on the Steam marketplace.

A listing for Skyrim VR is already live over on the Steam store, and that tells us the game will be compatible with Oculus Rift, HTC VIVE, and Windows Mixed Reality.

Skyrim VR took PlayStation VR gamers by storm when it was released late a year ago, dominating PSVR sales charts and helping Sony to boost its headset sales. The community may be wasting away, desperate for any news about The Elder Scrolls VI, but at least there's a new way to journey through the frozen wastes of Skyrim on the horizon-and depending on your views of VR, it might be the best. Last fall saw the release of both Fallout 4 and Skyrim VR versions for the PlayStation 4, followed by a SteamVR version of Fallout 4 to give PC gamers their first taste. The release is planned for April 3, and the VR version will include all the official add-ons for the game, namely Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. Skyrim VR will be available starting April 3rd of next month. Are you ready for some VR action? The most popular Elder Scrolls game to date was reworked, allowing players to experience the story all over again in virtual reality.

Skyrim VR will be something that's instantly familiar to those who are already well acquainted with the standard version.
