Nokia 9 suspected to house triple camera setup

The phones were announced in February 2018 at MWC event at Barcelona, Spain and some have already gone on sale in other countries.

HMD Global, which sells Nokia brand of phones, has launched three new smartphones- the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 2018 and Nokia 8 Sirocco for the Indian market.

Nokia 6, HMD Global's best selling mid-range smartphone from 2017, will be phased out eventually, Times Now has learnt from official sources. It comes with a 13 MP front camera with a f/2.0 aperture rate.

Finnish publication Suomimobiili has leaked the Nokia 9 features online.

The 3.5mm headphone is, of course, welcomed, since Nokia's flagship model, the Nokia 8 Sirocco, chose to get rid of the feature altogether.

When previous year Nokia sprang back to life in the smartphone space, it was HMD Global, a team of ex-Nokian's who had been pawned off to Microsoft and then let loose that had engineered the revival.

The phone will be available in black/copper and white/copper colour combinations.

The smartphone has a 6-inch LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio which makes it a bit tall but feels 5.5-inch on the hand.

Falling in high-class smartphone range, Nokia 8 Sirocco, will be priced for Rs 49,999. At the back, you can find fingerprint sensor just below the camera. The handset will support Qi quick remote charging, said to offer 60 for each penny charge in 30 minutes. The Android Oreo (Go)-powered device, priced at Rs 5,499 is targeted at entry-level smartphone buyers. Powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, the device comes mated to a non-removable 3,260mAh battery rated to deliver up to 22 hours of talk time and 495 hours of standby time.

The report adds that Nokia 9 would have a 21-megapixel selfie camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 1.4-micron pixels, and an f/1.8 aperture. For selfies, it comes with a 16 Megapixel with ZEISS optics front camera. The camera on Nokia 7 is quite capable and comes with a variety of modes and filters.

The Nokia 7 Plus features a dual rear camera setup which includes a 12MP primary camera sensor along with a 13MP secondary camera lens with 2X optical zoom.

The 7 Plus also offers Nokia OZO audio, and the package is backed by a 3800mAh battery.

All the customers buying any of the above three phones will also get 25% instant discount on domestic hotels at MakeMyTrip.

As far as user interface is concerned, the look and feel is stock Android and the new phones run without any lag.

Lastly, HMD Global announced its first 2018 flagship smartphone- the Nokia 8 Sirocco. Talking about the availability of these smartphones, the Nokia 6 (2018) will be available for purchase from April 6, while the Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco will start selling from April 30 and pre-booking will be available from April 20 onwards. For connectivity options, it supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C (2.0), and a 3.5mm audio jack.
